The Fleet Deployment for Containerships Liner / 定期貨櫃船之船隊部署

碩士 / 國立海洋大學 / 航運技術研究所 / 87 / The fleet deployment plays, especially for the containerships liner, one of the most important role in the fleet planning and management. Deployed ships will decide how many capacities provided to meet each market and how many voyages sailed on each route under a certain fleet scale. It can also estimate the profit obtained during the period of planning.
In this research, we discuss the procedure and contents for the whole topics of the fleet planning and management. An optimizing model regarding the fleet deployment is also suggested. The concept of model formulation is constructed under a cyclic network graph, which is used to describe the property of pick-up and delivery in the practical operation of container transportation. Two kinds of flow, container flow and voyage flows of different fleet, are defined on the network. Therefore, the containers transport can be balanced in each port as well as voyages arrangement for each fleet. We also consider the possibility of charting vessels within planning. It is supposed to be an integer programming (IP) problem for the flow variables can not be divided into real numbers as practical accounting.
We use the computer language, Fortran 90, to develop a problem generator for CPLEX 6.0, an optimizing computer package, solving the mathematical model directly. Real cases of East-Japan line and West-Japan lines from a certain national liner are test. The results show that our model is promising. Some results of sensitivity analysis are also reported.
