碩士 / 逢甲大學 / 機械工程學系 / 88 / The main objective of the study was to numerical investigate the frost behavior on the finned tube heat exchangers. The study developed a theoretical model of frost formation. It has been not only successfully applied to predict the spatial and temporal variation of frost thickness, frost accumulation and energy transfer rate , but also can predict with changeable wall temperature. The model developed by energy balanced equation and mass balanced equation harmony with properties correlations and consideration of the evaporator overall heat transfer condition. From results, we can apply to predict frost formation in evaporator. In another way, The study also performed theoretical model of frosted flat plate to study the frost formation of fin further.
Results show that air face velocity, air humidity, air temperature, fin density and wall temperature affect frost growth. Frost accumulation can be increased by increasing air humidity, fin density, air face velocity and reducing wall temperature and air temperature. Among them, The dominant factor to affect frost accumulation was the humidity content of the air.
