碩士 / 國立成功大學 / 水利及海洋工程學系 / 88 / The SWAN model that is developed by Delft University of Technology in Netherlands was applied to simulate typhoon waves around Taiwan coastal region. The finite differential method is used to solve the 2-D wave density spectrum equation that includes the generation, dissipation and non-linear terms. Typical examples were calculated to examine the validity of the model. The prediction of wave height and period are in good agreement with measurements, especially in the second and third typhoon track. Nest grid method can simulate the distribution of wave direction and wave height in the nearshore region.
