碩士 / 國立海洋大學 / 水產養殖學系 / 88 / The 96-h LC50 of nitrate on tiger shrimp Penaeus monodon was 5277、3453 and 2046 mg/l at 15, 25 and 35 ppt, respectively. The safe value of nitrate was P. monodon (0.297 ± 0.084 g,2.835 ± 0.62 cm) was estimated to be 141.3、178.2 and 204.6 mg/l at 15, 25 and 35 ppt, respectively.
Ammonia-N excretion of shrimps (18.44 ± 0.58 g) increase, whereas urea-N excretion and organic-N excretion increased with concomitant increase of hemolymph ammonia and urea when the shrimps were exposed to elevated nitrate. The contribution of ammonia-N excretion, urea-N excretion and organic-N excretion in a total-N excretion of P. monodon was 50.29 mg/l, respectively. The increase of ammonia-N excretion with increase of urea-N excretion and organic-N excretion were observed for the shrimps exposed to elevated nitrate. Hemolymph glucose increase lactate and LDH concentration decreased with increase of elevated nitrate concentration, and the hemolymph glucose was 50.29 mg/l of that in the control shrimps.
Penaeus monodon were exposed individually to 0 (control), 1, 5, 10, 50 and 100 mg/l nitrate in 25 ppt salinity for 24 h. oxyhemocyanin, protein levels, hemolymph pH, partial pressure of wxygen (PO2), partial pressure of carbon dioxide (PCO2), HCO3- and total carbon dioxide (TCO2) were determined. There wasan increase in hemolymph oxyhemocyanin and protein decreased with increase nitrate. Hemolymph PO2 increased directly with nitrate, while hemolymph pH, PCO2, HCO3- and TCO2 were inversely related to nitrate. It is suggested that P. monodon following exposure to nitrate at 10 mg/l or higher, decreases oxygen affinity of hemocyanin, and causes metabolic product of ammonia and HCO3- to from urea through the ornithine-urea cycle.
