碩士 / 國立臺灣大學 / 電信工程學研究所 / 88 / Theoretically, the dual polarization frequency reuse system which utilizes the same carrier frequency and bandwidth but with different polarization states can double the system capacity. However, due to the cross polarization and fading effects, the system performance degrades seriously. Besides, the use of multi-amplitude signaling schemes in the wireless orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) system requires the fading tracking mechanism. In this thesis, we propose a new pilot-symbol-based dual polarization transmission system with OFDM scheme. The performance of the system in the cross polarization and fading channel with Doppler effect is analyzed. The performance is presented in terms of symbol error rate and compared with linear Minimum Mean Square Error (MMSE) estimation and transform domain based estimation. It is shown that the proposed system provides better performance than others schemes.
