“The bow-line” means that business develop of seaport and river-port village important building type in the early stage in Taiwanese. The building pattern, space organization, and social culture meaning transmit of “The bow-line” Those play an important role and status in Taiwanese architecture history.
Tradition building in Taiwan have been passed through hundred years of develop, but, as regards show most such a island country─Taiwan, the culture features of coast village develop in the early stage, and building characteristic “The bow-line” building style, but there were few people to make mention of develop history about Taiwan buildings. However, this research probe into Taiwan traditional “The bow-line” building style. From different angles whose are space design theory, and space structure of shop residence, take steps whose are review document, analyze theory structure, and investigate into field, research into shop residence in Taiwanese building, look for again what plays a role and status in Taiwanese architecture history, try to establish Taiwanese traditional “The bow-line” building style.
I hope there are two contribution in purpose of research :
1.To probe into “The bow-line” building style, to fill in the lack in develop history about Taiwan buildings.
2.From investigate, and record timely, establish, collect interrelated history data about document of “The bow-line”, picture, oral account data.
