An Investigation of Heat Transfer and Friction Characteristics of Fin-and-Tube Heat Exchangers / 鰭管式熱交換器熱傳與摩擦特性研究

碩士 / 國立海洋大學 / 航運技術研究所 / 89 / Fin-and-tube heat exchangers with plain fins or slit fins are tested in this study. The wind tunnel is an open induced type. The effects of the fin pitch, number of row, tube diameter and fin pattern on thermal performance of the air side were experimentally investigated. The results are compared and presented as Colburn j factor and friction factor against Reynolds number based on the tube diameter in the range of 200~1500. It indicates that j factors as well as friction factors of the fin-and-tube heat exchangers with plain or slit fins decrease with increasing fin pitch. The heat transfer rates of heat exchangers decrease with increasing number of tube row whereas the friction factor is relatively independent of the number row. In fin patterns, the heat transfer performance for heat exchangers with slit fins are superior to exchangers with plain fins. Also, the pressure drop is higher for the former ones. Empirical equations are proposed for the two different heat exchangers in this study.
