碩士 / 國立海洋大學 / 電機工程學系 / 89 / The shipboard electric power system is an independent system of which the required reliability is higher than that of the seashore power system. Because of the frequent load variation, the generating unit shall have fast and stable response. The excitation system supplies energy to the rotor field and then controls the output voltage and reactive power of the generating unit. Proper tuning of the excitation system parameter will make the generating unit respond to the load change suitably.
The main purpose of this thesis is to study the stability of the shipboard electric power system with emphasis placed on analyzing the effect of the excitation system on the overall system dynamic behaviors. A sample shipboard electric power system is taken as the study system. The tuning of the excitation system parameter is examined by the method of eigenanalysis to investigate the effect of the excitation system on the system stability. Based on the results analyzed from eigenanalysis and verified from the time-domain simulations, a set of proper parameters for the excitation system is recommended. Furthermore, the design methodology is also studied for the installation of the power system stabilizer (PSS) on the shipboard electric power system.
