This research proposes to add an interference mask net in the set-net bag and studies the effect of the mask net on improving the catch of set-net fishery. The orientation and the height of the interference mask net are two design parameters of model test. The study was carried out in a water tank and digital image process system were used to monitor the behavior of fish in the model set net. The result shows that the mask net will not reduce the entering rate of the setnet gear method, however, the remaining rate increased and the escaping rate reduced by the setnet method when the interference mask net is oriented 0 or 30 degrees relative to a horizontal line. The raising in remaining rate are not obvious when the mask net is oriented 60 or 90 degrees, or when the height of the mask net is changed.
