碩士 / 東海大學 / 工業設計學系 / 89 / The Taipei city government tries to resolve the problems of traffic bottlenecks and promote the use of the mass transportation by selecting several lanes reserved for the use of bus and making lines of the rapid transit system successive opened for commercial service. In the future of the mass transportation, the rapid transit system will play the most important part of it. To respond to the growing usage of the rapid transit system reported day by day, the design of facilities in the rapid transit terminals receive more shares of contribution to the system success.
This paper chooses the “Taipei Main Station” which has the highest use of the Taipei rapid transit system to be the place of study. At first, we aim at the three paths and six nodes inside the terminal, and record the amount and type of all objects and signs set along with the paths and nodes. We expect to find out the problems in the terminal from the point of “amount and type of setting”. Secondly, we proceed an experiment of simulate to figure out the part of inconvenience and unsatisfaction based on the behavior of commuters while taking the rapid transit system. Finally, a questionnaire arranged by the result of first and two stages is used to analyze the commuter’s consciousness of using rapid transit system.
From the results of this three phases, we conclude that a perfect transportation terminal should plan properly in advance and moreover integrate the concept of universal design into the stage of the environment and facilities design concurrently. In addition, we can rely on some characters of the environment and facilities to improve the convenience and vivacity of the terminal. The transportation terminal, then, will become more accessible and achieve the greatest satisfaction to most people in terms of both “physiology” and “psychology” use conditions.
