碩士 / 國防大學中正理工學院 / 造船工程研究所 / 90 / Establishing the defense of naval ship and expanding the power of battle are major topics for the navy of every country. Under current consideration, the water mist system is one of important methods for the protection of naval ships. At present, the water mist system is utilized in fire fighting, anti-missile-infrared depression, and NBC flushing down of naval ships. After the 1990’s Montreal Protocol, Halon 1301 should be stopped to produce, and a lot of researches and experiments about the water mist system replacing Halon 1301 have been done in America, such as Naval Ship Research and Development Center, Navy Research Laboratory, and the anti-fire research ship, EX-Shadwell. Moreover, the United State Navy has decided that the water mist system is the protection device of main propulsion machinery room for the USS San Antonio (LPD-17). In anti-missile-infrared depression, a lot of papers show that the water mist flushing and decreasing temperature is a very cheap and efficiency method. In England, the Sea Wraith has employed water mist system for the stealth design. The water mist system has been also applied in NBC flush down on the deck in the Navy of every country for many decades. In order to know the arrangements and the functions of water mist system in detail and to establish the related fundamentals on ship protection, the droplet size of the water mist and the effect of spray pressure have been analyzed and discussed through well planned experiments in this thesis. The above results are helpful to establishing the capability of the naval ship protection.
