Carbon Dioxide Fixation by Algae and its Utilization / 藻類固定二氧化碳與藻體的利用研究

碩士 / 長庚大學 / 化學工程研究所 / 90 / The emission of CO2 from human activities has been recognized as an important pollutant for environment and caused the global warming. Biological CO2 fixation has recently been reported as an efficient mechanism for reducing the emission of CO2. Microalgae photosynthesis to fix CO2 is the most economical and efficient method among others biological CO2 fixation methods in Taiwan.
A highly concentration of CO2 can be obtained from flue gas , that is more higher than CO2 tolerance of simple microalgae. As result , the step of strain and cultivation is a must for microalgae using as CO2 fixation. In this study , a simple chlorella sp. was select to cultivate to adopt a high concentration of CO2. Beside cultivation, the extraction of costly chlorophyll were studied in order to extend economic values of microalgae after CO2 fixation. Furthermore, the adsorption of copper(II) ion by using the extracted microalgae residue was also studied.
The experiment results indicated that the after special cultivation simple microalgae by authors could tolerant 20 vol%CO2 concentration. The extraction of chlorophyll were prepared by grinding method has the best extraction result. The maxmum Chlorella extraction capacity is about 2.54(g/100g dry algae). Furthermore, the microalgae residue after grinding had higher adsorption ability for copper(II) ion. The maxmum copper(II) ion adsorption ability is about 4.625(mg/g dry residue).
