The study of the banks' evaluation and selection for far-sea fishing companies on Taiwan area / 台灣地區遠洋漁業公司評選往來銀行之研究

碩士 / 國立成功大學 / 管理學院碩士在職專班 / 90 / This research focuses on the far-sea fishing companies in Taiwan, exploring the crucial factors on how they decide which banks fit their industry need. Questionnaires in this research are designed under “Conceptual Model of Service Quality” developed by Parasuraman, Zei-thaml & Berry(1985) with some modifications to meet characteristic demand of the industry. Eight factors are extracted by means of factor analysis. Statistical methods including canonical correlation analysis, cluster analysis, and discriminant analysis utilized in this research lead to following findings:
1. The Factor of Business Contents
Easy access for exchange of foreign currency at the bank is the most satisfying, while the bank’s offering financial planning and instruments is the least.
2. The Factor of Service Contents
Companies are most satisfactory with the convenience in dealing business. Banks failing to provide enough service counters suffer dissatisfaction the most.
3. The Factor of Prestige and Reputation
Companies regard the prestige and reputation highly, and prefer banks that are known internationally. They care the least about the profitability and bad-debt ratio of the banks.
4. The Factor of Price Terms
Companies mostly concern the allowance in the exchange rate of foreign currency. In the contrast, companies consider least importance of interest rate of deposits higher than other financial institutions.
