碩士 / 國立成功大學 / 環境工程學系碩博士班 / 90 / This study aims to identify industry linkage effects and energy consumption, SOx, NOx and CO2 emission characteristics of road transportation sector in Taiwan. Input-output analysis is applied to quantify the inter-industry linkage relationships. Multiplier analysis is used to identify the characteristics of energy consumption, SOx, NOx and CO2 emission. And the factor analysis is applied to identify major factors of SOx, NOx and CO2 emission in road transportation sector. Furthermore, the analysis is applied to identify major factors of SOx and NOx emission changes for different motor vehicles in this sector.
The result of industry linkage relationships indicates that the industry linkage effect of road transportation is not significant. As for energy multiplier, the road transportation sector ranks among the top 3 for several years. Also, the energy consumption caused by itself is much more than from relative industries. NOx and CO2 multipliers have similar results. However, the value of SOx multiplier is less significant.
Results from factor analysis of SOx and NOx indicate that the vehicle growth is the major factor for increase of SOx and NOx emission changes, while the pollutant coefficient is the major decreasing factor. As for CO2 factor analysis, results show that the economic growth and emission coefficient are major factors for the increase of CO2 emission changes, while the structure share is the major factor for the decrease. As for strategies for reduction of pollutants and energy consumption, it would be more effective to focus on the private passenger cars and trucks. Furthermore, directions and strategies toward sustainable transportation in Taiwan are suggested from results of comparing measures practiced in Japan and Singapore.
