Since the large scale of hydraulic landfill becomes the major trend of development for offshore industrial zone in Taiwan.The case history appears that the relative density of soil layer filled by hydraulic landfill can be over 50% to 65% above the water table,however,The relative density could be only 35% to 45% with the soil layer below the water table. During the strong earthquake, the liquefaction potential is safety usually high for the hydraulic landfill. Therefore,for the considerations on foundation construction requirement,the proper ground improvement is critical and necessary.
For the dynamic compationme methods of foundation soil improvement in large scale construction area, the dynamic compaction method commonly favored due to the simple equipment usage, short construction period,and low cost. But the application of dynamic compaction method is usually determined according to the depth and degree of improvement requirement by experienced equations. In this research ,dynamic compation with the low single tamping energy is applied on evalating the mathematical equations developed from high single tamping energy,and results are expected to be applied on foundation soil layer improvement in the future.
