Effect of Keyslot at End Bracket of Continuous Hatch Coaming on Strength of Hatch Corner / 端肘板鍵槽對連續艙口圍緣角隅強度之影響

碩士 / 國立海洋大學 / 系統工程暨造船學系 / 90 / For the approval of the classification society, ship structure design should base on the rules regulated by the society. Rules are usually developed according to ship structure theory and marine experiences. Following the rules and using some analysis tools, this desire can be realized. Combining computing technology and Finite Element Method can be an effective method in dealing with the problems of ship structure analyses.
Owing to the complexity of ship’s structure, the analysis process can be divided into two phases. Firstly, the whole ship girder can be considered as a large thin-wall tubular structure, thus, the displacement and sectional forces can be determined by the thin-beam theory. Secondly, the details stress analysis can be conducted by Finite Element Model with very fine mesh to consider the local stress concentration phenomena. By this two-step analyses, the stress response can be computed more precisely for the designer.
In this paper, a container ship with large hatches in heavy wave loading is analyzed to resolve the problem of stress concentration at hatch corner. The measure to release stress concentration is to arrange a keyslot on the end bracket of the hatch side coaming. This way can make the stress distribution at the hatch corner structure more uniform and the stress will be dispersed. Besides , the shape factors of keyslot including orientation angle of keyslot, keyslot length, keyslot width, keyhole radius, dimension parameters of end bracket, etc. are selected and discussed how these parameters to reduce the local stress.
The results reveal that the stress concentration at the hatch corner can be reduced effectively by selecting high keyslot angle, small ratio of the upper length to lower length of the end bracket, and large ratio of end bracket thickness to the lower length of the end bracket.
