碩士 / 國立海洋大學 / 應用經濟研究所 / 90 / Grouper is high economical aquaculture product in Taiwan. In the recent years its supply and demand increase greatly which change the aggregate structure of seafood market in Taiwan. This study carries an analysis on production economy of its aquaculture industry and the market of its products. A series of investigated data are used in the analysis of cost and revenue of Grouper farming. Cobb-Douglas cost function is employed to analysis the relationship among various production factors. The supply-demand model and 2SLS method are also applied to analyze important variables of the markets. As a result, some elasticity coefficients in demand, supply, income and cross elasticity are obtained. The result of the empirical study shows that a good market potential in future is exist. However some measures in marketing improvement and cost reduction of production are need to be devised and carried for the development of the industry.
