The Heavy metal Distributions of Estuarine Sediment core in Western Taiwan / 台灣西部河口岩心沉積物重金屬分布

碩士 / 中國文化大學 / 應用化學研究所 / 90 / ABSTRACT
The purposes of this study are to understand distributions and historical pollution records of heavy metals in sediment core of Western Taiwan estuary area, The results of the experiment showed that the concentration of heavy metals nickel、silver and lead are higher than other heavy metals in Tamsui River. The concentration of heavy metals lead and cadmium are higher than other metals in Chiang Chun River.
Heavy metal in forms deposit by physical and chemical processes, such as sedimentation-resuspension, sorption-desorption and complexation- decomplexation.Experimental results show that sediments core in the Tamsui River and Chiang Chun River areas were polluted from 1961。At that time,Taiwan started industrialization。The normalization procedure identifies the most polluted areas It is clearly demonstrated that some industrial activities, notably affect the heavy metals concentration in the sediments.
An evaluation of background levels for the sediments of Western Taiwan estuary area is carried out,the result of background levels are below
V:11-12.9×10-4、Co:1.5-2.5×10-4、Ni:7-9.2×10-4、
Cd:0.45-1.9×10-6、Ag:3-5.6×10-6、Pb:4.5-5.2×10-4、
Fe:2.5-3.2、Mn:40-60×10-4
