A study of flood damage mitigation of high-speed rail system / 高速鐵路運輸系統防洪之研究

碩士 / 淡江大學 / 水資源及環境工程學系 / 90 / The plan in constructing a High-Speed Railroad (HSR) in west side area of Taiwan is one of our important economical projects today. The purpose of this HSR construction is mainly to relieve the heavy traffic burden in this region, also to elevate the efficiency of our public transportation. However, the disaster of heavy storm or typhoon happened in Taiwan is very frequently. A typhoon named Nari swept the north part of Taiwan in September of 2001, which brought a serious flood over the Taipei area and caused the paralysis of the rapid transit system for month. The damage caused by this flood is far beyond calculation. Due to this painful experience, how to prevent the system from flooding disaster is becoming the first priority for the HSR construction and operation.
Therefore, Tao-Yuan station of the HSR system is selected as a subject in this research, and analyzed with Geographic information system combined quasi two dimensional flood plain flow model in heavy rainfall situation. So as to know what flooding condition may happen to the surround area of the station, and it can be used as a reference to the flood prevention design of the station.
