The competitive advantages from the global logistics operation can reduce the risks of enterprise’s global strategy. Fourth party logistics is the key factor in the global logistics operation.
The research will first discuss the definition and characteristics and history of logistics development, then discuss the framework of supply chain management, global logistics management and strategy, business logistics outsourcing reasons and benefits. And discuss the definition and development and defferences between third party logistics (3PL) and fourth party logistics (4PL). List and summary the which evolving of 3PL & 4PL and trends in America, Japan, Europe and Taiwan.
Finally, Appling the Quality Function Development (QFD) technique to establish the matrix to discuss the relativity of 3PL & 4PL with customer needs, the relativity of business logistics outsourcing with 4PL, And the relativity of 4PL with e-commerce and find the supply chain solution.
The last section will present the effect and positioning of 4PL in global logistics operation.
