碩士 / 國立交通大學 / 土木工程系 / 91 / The paper investigates the marine communities around breakwaters at Hsin-Chu fishery harbor from 12-month field sampling of seawater and marine organisms on armored blocks. Spatial distribution of seawater and species richness of organisms on armored blocks are first evaluated by statistically analyzing 8-station sampling data. Using cluster analysis and principal factor analysis the spatial and temporal distributions of seawater and marine organisms are obtained. Finally the relationship of both distributions of seawater and marine organisms is established by Pearson correlation.
Thirty-seven species of organisms that belong to six phylums are found in all organism samples. Water temperature and pH values of seawater are slightly various. Dissolved oxygen is has high value in the summer, but has low value in the winter. However, electrical conductivity of seawater has opposite tendency to the dissolved oxygen. We can classify the organisms and seawater by temporal cluster analysis into two groups, that is summer group and winter group. Seawater has little effect on algae, but significantly affects on organisms on armored blocks. Based on the presented spatial and temporal distributions of seawater and organisms on armored blocks, breakwaters are classified into four kinds, which are revetment, headland, sheltered and estuarine parts, by species diversity and richnes
