none / 影響企業海外投資承諾變化因素之研究

碩士 / 國立東華大學 / 國際企業研究所 / 91 / The present study continued the research efforts of the issue on the FDI commitment exploring the antecedents of Taiwanese firms’ FDI commitment. Based on the theoretical foundation of the agency theory and resource-based theory, we tried to establish the linkage between the corporate governance structure, industrial climate, and firm’s resource variables and the firm’s increased investment level in Mainland China.
The research sample was collected from 111 public traded companies that provide sufficient investment data of Mainland China and manifest increased investment in Mainland during 1999~2001. The empirical study found both agency theory and resource-based theory variables contribute to explain the difference of the increased investment level of Taiwanese MNCs in Mainland China. There are positive relationships between industrial climate, the numbers of board members’ related industrial connections, marketing capability, available cash flow and the increased investment level in Mainland China, while there is a negative relationship between R&D capability and the increased investment level in Mainland China. Furthermore, we found the relationships between independent variables and dependent variable that the proposed model predicts would be different on the subsamples which are categorized by ROA performance indicator.
