碩士 / 國立花蓮師範學院 / 國小科學教育研究所 / 91 / This thesis mainly explored the possibility of the five-grade and six-grade students learning nature sciences by adopting the Project-Based Learning(PBL) in a secluded primary school, and tried to find out the influence of the students’ learning about the process-skills in science education, attitude toward science, and interpersonal communication skills through the project of raising butterflies.
The action research was adopted to improve the situation of learning continuously by the feedback loop of planning, taking action, revising and re-planning. The results of this study were carried out through the students’ work sheets, the teaching plan and reflective journal, the interviewing of students and professors, and the quantitative analysis of the questionnaires with triangulation principles.
The research results indicate that it is possible of students learning nature sciences by adopting the PBL in a secluded primary school, but must follow some training plans by steps. After the course, the students’ science process skills are raised obviously, especially in observation, comparison and categorization. As for the students’ attitude toward science, and interpersonal communication skills, there are no differences obviously.
The researcher found the students of secluded primary school are more positive attitude toward science than those of general primary school. That will be helpful to decrease the difference between urban and secluded primary schools through fostering students’ skills by applying the superiority of plentiful natural surrounding. In addition, the teachers have the potential of project-based teaching through implementing the project-based learning action.
