This study explore the composition property of Monostroma nitidum, the local growing environment (include lithophyte, sea water) the relationship between its elements and water soluble sulfur polysaccharide. Monostroma nitidum distributed only in the seashore with igneous rock, SEM-EDX analyses showed that these igneous rock possessed remarkable amount of sulfur ranging from 5.03-6.62%. The sulfur level in igneous rock is positively corelated with both sulfur and total water soluble polysaccharide sulfate levels in Monostroma nitidum.
