碩士 / 國立海洋大學 / 水產養殖學系 / 91 / The survival rate of shrimp larvae was variable for Litopenaeus vannamei cultured by normal technology. In present study, recirculating system was used to provide a good and stable water environment in order to improve the efficiency of shrimp larvae culture. Furthermore, the effects of stocking density of shrimp larvae and specific vertical surface area of tank on the performance of culture system were investigated, also. It hoped to increase the carrying capacity of system via these innovation.
The experiments were done in tanks with water volume of 213 L (each), and with postlarvae(P5-P20) cultured in tanks for 28 days. The results showed that the efficiency of larvae culture was improved. The average survival rate, specific growth rate and feed conversion ratio were above 60%, 16-22 %/day and below 1.5, respectively. The increase of stocking density caused and increase of total biomass in tank and decrease of specific growth rate. The survival rate and specific growth rate decreased when stocking density above 4000 P/m3. The addition of vertical surface area caused an increasing of system carrying capacity, and the total biomass maintained in tank increased. The survival rate of larvae was increased with the addition of vertical surface area also, when the stocking density was above 2000 P/m3.
According to the results of present study, it is suggested that larvae culture of L. vannamei could be performed with stocking density 2000 P/m3, DO above 7 ppm and with addition of surface area to a level of 17 m2/m3 (specific surface area of tank). Then, the survival rate 90% and specific growth rate 20.3 %/day of larvae could be expected, after 28 days.
