Study on Phenol Degradation by Intestine Tract Bacterial from Tilapia hybria / 吳郭魚腸道內菌叢分解酚類之研究

博士 / 國立海洋大學 / 漁業科學系碩士在職專班 / 91 / The purpose of this study is to investigate the degradation of phenol by intestine tract bacteria cultivated from Tilapia hybria that grown in fresh water and sea. Experiments mainly consist of the following works. First, cultivation of bacteria from the intestine tract of Tilapia hybria was carried out in aerobic and anaerobic environments. Then, degradations of phenol in aerobic and anaerobic conditions by the cultured microorganisms were compared. And finally, the effects of salinity on the phenol degradation were examined.
Results showed that the values of pH in the intestine tract were 6.18+0.02 and 6.62+0.02 for Tilapia hybria grown in fresh water and sea, respectively. To the cultured bacteria from Tilapia hybria at fresh water, the bacterial growth pattern in aerobic and anaerobic circumstances was similar. Throughout all experimental conditions, the degradation of phenol appeared possible, but the extent and rate of the degradation was different, which depends on the source of bacteria, oxidation-reduction potential, and salinity in aquatic solution.
