碩士 / 國立臺灣大學 / 國際企業學研究所 / 91 / Adopting a broad-based data set of firms in the electronics and electrics industry, this thesis aims at exploring the variables to the international financing decisions of the Taiwan’s firms that issued “European Convertible Bonds” during the period of 1989 to 2002.
This study contributes to the literature by providing an explanation to the two highly related variables in the aspect of “Cost of Capital”. Specifically, I investigate the extent to which five independent variables, such as ECB’s actual proceeds to company size, help explain two dependent variables-the coversion proporation to the whole ECB price and the warrant premium percentage of ECB. This thesis finds the liability ratio adjusted to the market value highly correlatted to the proporation of the coversion exchange rate to the original coversion price.
