The Study of Lease for Domestic Civil Airlines / 國內民用航空運輸業租賃融資之分析與研究

碩士 / 東吳大學 / 企業管理學系 / 91 / Abstract
Aviation transportation industry is a capital-intensive industry and gathering huge aircraft funds is the main task of an airline company. Generally, an aircraft costs at least tens-- sometimes hundreds-- of millions of dollars. With the exception of a few airlines that are able to purchase aircraft with their own funds, the majority besides getting bank loans, acquire aircraft with smooth operations by lease arrangement from airplane manufacturers or leasing companies.
Aircraft leasing initiated in the 60’s in US and developed rapidly ever since, is now an indispensable means for airlines for their fleets planning.
Accompanied with global economic development, the Asia-Pacific aviation transportation industry is growing even more rapidly than in advanced western countries; yet, compared with the advanced western world, the aviation transportation industry and aircraft leasing market in this region are not as sophisticated-- nor is it exceptional in the Taiwan market. The Asia-Pacific Region Aviation transportation industry, geographically well located with many newly developed economies, is naturally a global focus. Therefore the market of aircraft lease has the most opportunities in this area also.
Expanding the rights to international routes and seeking more capital sources, consolidating the related businesses with knowledge for the aviation market, uplifting the professional know-how in the aircraft leasing area, and jointing cooperation with relevant industries, are positive directions to further develop the aviation transportation industry and aircraft leasing market .
