Synchronous Web-Navigation Instruction System - using the Dynamic Guidance Event Mechanism with Audio/Video Interaction / 結合影音互動與動態導覽事件機制之網頁引導同步教學系統

碩士 / 長榮大學 / 經營管理研究所 / 93 / With regard to the learners of web-based instruction (WBI), it is necessary to offer them a reasonable amount of guidance according to their grade. The mainstream of the WBI system is to control the achieved percentage of scheduled progress by students and to give assistance by teachers.
However, most of the studies of the existing synchronous WBI system focus on the learners only, and the role of teachers, as a result, becomes passive or even in an invisible state. Thus, students will easily get lost and fall into the state of cognitive overload. Besides, because of the limitations of the WBI systems and, comparing with the traditional way of education, they require more time and efforts to be accomplished. As a result, it is more difficult for the WBI systems to be popularize or accepted by teachers, and teachers will also resist in using the WBI system.
On account of the above-mentioned drawbacks, a synchronous web-navigation instruction system using the method of “the combination of Audio/Video interaction with dynamic guidance event mechanism” is proposed in this study. Our system is divided into four parts, including the server side, the client side, the guide and the learner. The server side is a server that connects both the guide and the learner, while the client side program determines whether the user is a guide or a learner. During the process of guidance education, combining the dynamic guidance event mechanism with audio/video will be able to achieve real time interaction.
As for learners, a reasonable amount of web-navigation instruction can provide different learning and interaction, providing group and individual learning materials. As for teachers, rather than making their own electronic teaching materials or converting their teaching materials into electronic copies, they can make use of the teaching materials from the World Wide Web (WWW) and consider the WWW as their knowledge warehouse. This kind of interactive web-navigation instruction systems can reduce teachers’ resistance to using WBI systems; this is also a feasible plan that can improve the interactive mechanism’s drawbacks in the existing WBI environment.
