But, the inside of shipyard and the suppliers always have many independent systems. Therefore different system can communicate each other must via the switch of different formats. But it often make the communication are inconvenient and lower shipyards competitiveness.
By using XML technology and STEP standard, we can integrate various systems in different operation platform quickly and different program languages can communicate each other.Further using Collaborative management to integrate the enterprise and relative suppliers and manage product in the produce life cycle thus, inside we can quickly access and use these product information about purchasing, manufacturing, transportation. As to the outside, we develop the business model’s extension with suppliers according to the integration of joint production and information systems.
Using Collaborative concept、XML and STEP to integrate R&D、material、 production etc information systems.We can control the source of purchasing are correctness and quality of material according to reduce the time of communication with suppliers. Furthermore, it makes different systems exchange information and communicate based on the standard.Orders information and purchasing documents can be transformed to related departments in shipyard with XML formats quickly .To expect integrating the environment in shipyard and the marine industry. For reaching the final resolve of increasing efficiency and improve shipyards competitiveness.
