Studies on the Vegetation of Hsinkangshan East Side in the Coastal Range of Eastern Taiwan / 臺灣東部海岸山脈新港山東側植群分析之研究

碩士 / 國立屏東科技大學 / 森林系 / 92 / Hsinkangshan is located in Taitung county, eastern Taiwan. The highest altitude ranges about 1,682 m. The climate is between ever-wet and summer rain in geographic climate division. 33 plots from altitude 500 m to 1,682 m were assembled and 8 environmental factors and floristic data were investigated. By Canonical Correspondence Analysis (CCA) and Redundancy Analysis (RDA), the relationship between vegetation types and environmental factors were observed. The results show that altitude, dbh, silt loam, and slope were the major environmental factors affecting plants distribution and forest types in this habitat. According to Two-way Indicator Species Analysis (TWINSPAN) and Syntax, Dissimilarity dendrogram for the classification of vegetation types were described. The forest vegetation types can be divided into 4 vegetation types, which are (1) Cyclobalanopsis morii-Machilus thunbergii vegetation type, (2) Castanopsis carlesii vegetation type, (3) Phoebe formosana-Lagerstroemia subcostata vegetation type, (4) Morus australis-Sphaeropteris lepifera vegetation type. Because of a few human interference here, the vascular plants are diverse including 15 families 450 species, 14 of them are rare species.
