The effect of computer-assisted instrument with internet in self care for beta major thalassemia adolescent / 網際網路輔助護理指導計劃對beta型重症海洋性貧血症青少年患者自我照顧行為之影響

碩士 / 國立台北護理學院 / 護理研究所 / 92 / The purpose of this study was to develop a computer-assisted instruction on Internet program and evaluate its effects in the self-care agency, social support and self-care behaviors for b thalassemia major adolescents. Relations among self-care agency, social support and self-care behavior and demographic data with b thalassemia major adolescent. A Quasi-experimental design was used in this study. Sixty-four of 13-19 years old adolescent with b thalassemia major were not randomly assigned into two groups. The experimental group (n=31) was provided four weeks computer-assisted instruction on Internet program, nursing intervention and home visit. The control group (n=33) was as control. The questionnaires used in the research include: demographic data, knowledge of thalassemia scale, self-care skill (subcutaneous insulin checklist, subcutaneous Desferal checklist), social support scale, self-care behavior scale, and computer-assisted instruction assessment.
Descriptive data analysis and inferential statistics was performed with SPSS/ Windows 10.0 software. The major findings of this study were as follows: 1. Knowledge of thalassemia and self-care skill in the post-test of the experimental group was better than the scores in the pre-test, and their differences were significant. 2. Social support scale in the post-test of the experimental group was better than the scores in the pre-test, but had not reach significant differences (p > .05). 3. The experimental group was bad at self-care behavior scale-medical treatment of self report and minority can apply a “discussion area” on Internet to management of problem. 4. Family history, knowledge of thalassemia, self-care skill (subcutaneous Desferal) and disease control of driven variable was positively correlated. 6. Most of the experimental group appraised the computer-assisted instruction on Internet program positively, in particular “e unit ”.
According to the results of this study, computer-assisted instruction on Internet program can find that better understanding knowledge of thalassemia and compliance with medical treatment will lead b thalassemia major adolescents to better self care and delay the process of complication.
