Studies on the Viral Hepatitis and liver functions of the Terrapin Capsules / 甲魚精粉對病毒性肝炎肝功能之研究

碩士 / 國立臺灣海洋大學 / 食品科學系 / 92 / Chronic Hepatitis & Liver Cirrhosis is the sixth cause of death in our country for many years until now. The people whom of hepatitis patients due to B or C type of hepatitis maybe became liver cirrhosis, hepatoma and death at last. The Terrapin was a seafood, that has had a large amounts of nutrition, that include Vitamins & minerals, essential amino acids, essential fatty acids, EPA, DHA, Ossein and Keratin etc. The purposes of this study were to understand the liver functions influencing of intake the Terrapin-powder of the viral hepatitis patients.
The samples were taken from the Taipei Municipal Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine of clinical viral hepatitis patients by Random Sampling method, and there were totally 90 subjects divide into A(4.2gm/day), B(2.1gm/day), C(placebo/day) 3 groups in this study. The study used double blinding and starts from 1 March 2003 and finished on 30 November 2003. The obtained data was processed by different statistic methods, e.g.: ANOVA and F-distribution, t-test, and nonparametric method (distribution free method) were conducted to analyze the differences between liver function test (7 items of liver function: ALT, AST, TP, ALB, Gamma-GT, T-Bil, D-Bil)。
The results indicated that the 7 items of liver function of the 3 groups of subjects has had changing and some of them would be significant difference, e.g.: ALT, AST were decreased in group A(AST: 58.37 u/l→48.30u/l; ALT: 81.10 u/l→ 61.30 u/l)& B(AST: 61.30 u/l→49.97u/l; ALT: 70.83 u/l→53.97 u/l), but increased in group C(AST: 62.03 u/l→71.17u/l; ALT: 103.27 u/l→127.63 u/l)etc.
The experimental evidence that intake the Terrapin-powder will can help the viral hepatitis patient reversion of normal liver function. Finally, the results of this study were discussed and the Terrapin-powder revealed could application to the viral hepatitis patient’s nutrition intake material and use for clinical about nutrition education were suggested.
