碩士 / 國立臺灣海洋大學 / 導航與通訊系 / 92 / The research of this thesis is mainly on the following two topics:
The first is to design and implement a traffic simulator of the AIS to manage and calculate the communication traffic for each port. This simulator is designed for AIS administrators to predict and evaluate the maximum communication traffic by vessels’ route plan or practical vessel data, and the traffic capacity available to other Basic AIS Service (BAS) applications. With this simulator, the administrators can estimate the traffic loading and add more base stations if required.
The second is to use dynamic messages received from vessels around Keelung Harbor to analyze the mode of vessel traffic flow, including the distribution of communication traffic density, distribution of vessel density, distribution of average speed of ground (SOG), etc. Such analyses provide valuable references for the planning and decision of vessel traffic safety related actions.
