The Study of the Current Situation and Effects of Pilot Mentor Teacher Program for Secondary Schools in Taipei / 臺北市中等學校教學輔導教師制度試辦現況與實施成效之研究

碩士 / 臺北市立師範學院 / 國民教育研究所 / 92 / The purpose of this study was to examine the current situation and effects of pilot mentor teacher program for secondary schools in Taipei.
The study included literature review, questionnaire survey and semi-structured interview. Survey questionnaire were sent to all mentor teachers (N=9), all protégés (N=15), and all school administrators (N=21). There were 33 copies of the questionnaire issued, and 32 of them were returned. Moreover, in order to obtain more information, 4 mentor teachers, 4 protégés, and 2 school administrators were interviewed.
According to the survey and interview findings, the positive impacts of the pilot mentor teacher program were:
(1) Mentor teachers and protégés were satisfied with their interaction.
(2) Video recordings were helpful for the instructional growth of protégés.
(3) The functions of the program were highly recognized by mentor teachers and protégés.
(4) The program could help mentor teachers and protégés to be aware and confident of their teaching, be much more active at professional growth activities, and have good interaction with their colleagues.
(5) Most subjects believed that the program could help the retention rate of good teachers.
(6) Most of the subjects were willing to continue their relationships.
Based on the research findings, some recommendations for authorities of educational administration, teacher training organization, school administrators, teachers, and for further study were proposed to improve the implementation of the program.
