碩士 / 國立雲林科技大學 / 企業管理系碩士班 / 92 / The process of economic development in Taiwan acted as the models of industrialization and modernization in the past years. It is also as the process of being internationalized. The process of being internationalized business should continuously be active and dynamic. It should keep developing all the time. Every activity involved in it should have its specific strategic meaning and function.
In Taiwan, marine industry acted as the first one of being internationalized. It plays an important role in Taiwan economic development. However, few studies have been done about marine industry in Taiwan, especially from the point of view of historical development. For helping people have a better understanding about the internationalization and growth of marine industry, a case study with interview and second-hand data collection has been conducted in this study.
Several conclusions are made as the following. First, due to the industry characteristic, the adoption of international strategies in the marine company was global strategy. The application of global strategies required high levels of integration, which depended on high levels of coordination and activities controls across overseas affiliates. A company which emphasized on the company value could strength the use of global strategy. However, in the real situation and process of being internationalized business, under the political and economic pressure, marine industry needs to adopt multi-domestic strategies while dealing with different business affairs in the world. For a company which only emphasized on the consistency of company value , it might encounter great challenges in the future.
