The relationships between impulsivity, beliefs about drugs using, drugs carving, and intention to relapse in heroin abusers / 成年海洛因濫用者衝動性、用藥信念、用藥渴求與復發意向關係之研究

碩士 / 國立中正大學 / 犯罪防治研究所 / 93 / The primary purpose of this study was to investigate the relationships among impulsivity, beliefs about drugs using, drugs carving, and intention to relapse for a sample of 944 heroin abusers. The study includes qualitative study and quantitative study. In order to understand the heroin abuser’s craving and beliefs of drugs abusing, 10 heroin abusers who were in Chiayi Prison and Drug Treatment Center had been interviewed by a semi-structure form. And then, the scales of involvement of drugs abusing, impulsivity, beliefs about drugs using, drugs carving, and intention to relapse were administered to 944 heroin abusers, which sampled from the Drug Treatment Centers in Taipei, Hsinchu, Taoyuan, Taichung, Yunlin, Chiayi, Tainan, Kaohsiung, and Pingtung. Impulsivity Inventory Scale has 14-items that includes three subscores, they are “pleasure seeking”, “sensation seeking”, and “impulsive aggresion”. Beliefs about Drugs Using Inventory Scale has 26-items that includes three subscores, they are “outcome expectancies”, “underestimate the risk of being in drugs adiction”, and “self-devalue with dependent on drugs”. Drugs Craving Inventory Scale has 10-items. The Intention to relapse Inventory Scale has 39-items that includes three subscores, they are “relapse induce from emotion”, “relapse induce from situation”, and “relapse induce from drugs acceptant”. The main findings show as follows: (1)Heroin abusers have excluded from using alcohol and betel nut. (2)Those subjects who involve with drugs abusing more seriously have higher impulsivity, more positive beliefs about drugs using, and stronger drugs craving. (3) Pleasure seeking, outcome expectancies, self-devaluation with dependent on drugs, and drugs craving can explain about 32.7% of variance of the intention to relapse that induce from emotion. (4) Pleasure seeking, self-devaluation with dependent on drugs, and drugs craving can explain about 31.5% of variance of the intention to relapse that induce from situation. (5) Pleasure seeking, impulsive aggression, outcome expectancies, self-devaluation with dependent on drugs, and drugs craving can explain about 33.8% of variance the intention to relapse that induce from drugs acceptant. The implications of this work for heroin abusing treatment were also discussed.
