碩士 / 義守大學 / 管理研究所碩士班 / 93 / It has been acknowledged that the development of national scenic area could benefit people who live in the surrounding areas; on the other hand, there is great possibility of negative impact with the development. Thus, it is necessary to assess the local resident’s perception about the impact of tourist industry. Such assessment is important for planning, policy evaluation, and for successful developing, marketing, managing in current stage, more important, for the future planning.
Due to the special chrematistics marine resources, various usages provided, and different interests of the marine tourists, there could be different levels of impacts on natural resources, societal, cultural, and economic environments. The major purpose of this research mainly focuses on the percetption and attitudes of the residents toward the development on marine tourism in the Tapeng Bay National Scenic Area. And, hope that the analysis on residents with different needs and expectations could be a useful reference for making the final decisions.
The analysis factors are;
1.In sum, there are more positive attitudes than negative toward the impacts of tourist industry.
2.Based on different demographic and geographic backgrounds, the residents’ perception and attitudes could be different.
3.The prior consideration is economic benefit. There are significant differences toward the perception of tourism impact among residents living in different areas.
4.Most residents hold positive attitudes toward the development of Tapeng Bay National Scenic Area. Among them, the residents who involved in the initiative negotiation are apparently more interested than others.
5.For residents who whether make living in marine-related industries, there is significant difference in perception only on the factor [economic benefits] brought by the development.
6.Besides the original planning of marine recreational activities the residents suggest the Tapeng Bay National Scenic Area should also devote on advocating international competitions to promote it.
7.The perception toward the impacts of tourism industry has only conditional impact on developing marine recreational activities.
