碩士 / 國立成功大學 / 交通管理學系碩博士班 / 93 / GPS-based taxi dispatching service is a kind of more safe and quality transportation service. If the enterprise wants to invest GPS-based taxi dispatching system, they have to break limitations of cost and technology. Whether this service can attract people to take a taxi or not will affect the enterprise’s investment policy. This research explores people’s inclination to take a GPS-based taxi and tries to calculate the cost of establishing a GPS-based taxi dispatching fleet.
After literature review, we consider comfortable, safety, convince and reliability as important factors when people decide to take a GPS-based taxi or not. In order to investigate people’s inclination and needs of a GPS-based taxi, the
questionnaire is designed according to the property of a GPS-based taxi and is dispatched to Taichung where has provided GPS-based taxi dispatching service.
Through the confidence analysis, every construct in our questionnaire is qualified. The SEM analysis tell us comfortable, convince and reliability all have a positive relationship with the inclination of people taking a GPS-based taxi. However, safety has a negative relationship with the inclination. It violates the expectation of the government, enterprises and scholars.
In the consumer demand analysis, the price elasticity of a GPS-based taxi is 2.9, which means that raising the price will reduce revenue of taxi enterprises. Besides, above 60% of consumers said they will take a GPS-based taxi more often if the
price won’t go up. A GPS-based taxi has a positive effect on people’s demand.
The enterprise demand analysis reveals that preferential price will help enterprises get back their investment soon. It is beneficial that enterprises and drivers establish GPS-based taxi dispatching systems together. Drivers will retrieve their investment in one year. If enterprises establish the systems by themselves, they will retrieve their investment in 1.5 year to 4 years.
