The case study for the shape function of beach profile / 海灘斷面形狀函數案例分析

碩士 / 國立臺灣海洋大學 / 河海工程學系 / 93 / In this thesis, the measured profile data during 1996~2003 in Yan-Liau beach are used to determine the shape function of beach profile. The median sand size was substituted into Dean equilibrium profile function to obtain the shape function. In order to match this beach profile, we keep the error less than 5 % after comparing the results to revise the Dean equilibrium profile function. To provide revised shape function in a straightforward way, we give a datum for nourishment in Yan-Liau.
This thesis utilizes the Kriging Method to estimate the depth at the surf zone because data between the exposed beach area and underwater beach are non-continuous. The use of the Kriging Method completed the topographic data that was used to create the aforementioned profile.
The benefits of this developed shape function include the ability to resolve the problems often occurring at the 0 elevation level using the Dean profile. This benefit is due to the use of the TM2 plane coordinate value which can be directly inserted into the shape function for calculation. With this added ability, the shape function can be used effectively in finding the effects of the tide at the tidal flat. Lastly, the adjusted Dean profile will aid those in the beach nourishment community by allowing them to simply use the mean sand diameter to calculate the equilibrium beach profile. By adjusting the Dean profile to within 5% error, we have an accurate picture of the Yanliao beach profile.
