The study of service quality and customer satisfaction for the 4th cabin of the airlines / 航空公司第四種艙等之服務品質與顧客滿意度分析之研究

碩士 / 國立臺北大學 / 企業管理學系碩士在職專班 / 93 / Cabins in an aircraft are usually divided into first, business and economy classes for a long period of time. The related global Computer Reservation Systems had been programmed to fit into such a design of three classes since then. However, after Dec. 12, 1991, things went different. The fourth option (Premium Economy Class) debuted, and dramatically influenced the regional market structure.
Accompanied by the advancement of society and progress of technology, more intelligence and experience of people, passengers do know how to strive for their rights & advantage now. The services which are requested by them should be speedy, abundant, convenient, and excellent with low cost.
This study is focused on the Premium Economy Class, where the software and hardware facilities in business class are applied in an aim that the competitive advantage of the fourth cabin in the market can be enhanced. Then, passengers who used to fly with business class, now can have nearly the same services without paying that high price. The economy class passengers can also enjoy services of higher quality by just spending a little bit more money.
To realize the difference of services provided between Premium Economy Class and economy class, and passengers’ satisfaction at other service items from passengers’ viewpoints, the questionnaire surveys and the statistic analysis are made accordingly.
The outcome of the questionnaire surveys show that such a cabin is acceptable and welcome. In addition, passengers’ “flying frequency”, “willingness of recommendation”, “sex”, “age”, “job” & “monthly income” have a close relationship with “reliability”, “comfortableness”, “assurance”, “responsiveness” & “empathy”.
