碩士 / 國立臺灣大學 / 工程科學及海洋工程學研究所 / 93 / Rescuing towing-operation is an extremely risky task especially in a bad weather condition. Traditionally, it depends on the experience of towing operators. In this research, a simulation system has been developed to help rescuers to be acquainted with the behaviors and phenomena of towing motions before towing.
A MMG mathematical model for simulating surge-sway-yaw coupled motions of a single ship had been developed and validated for many years in Japan. Based on the method of MMG model, a model of towing system, in which tow and towed ships are connected with an elastic catenary towline, is developed in the present study. In numerical simulations, the results of parametric study on the influence of towline length, connection positions of tow ship and towed ship, ship speed to course stability and towline tension in clam water are discussed. Furthermore, the effects of wind, wave and current are also taken into account and the results are also examined by the similar way as that in calm water.
Finally, the validity of the present model is verified qualitatively by comparing the present results with some published results of related researches.
