碩士 / 東吳大學 / 經濟學系 / 93 / Firm’s propose that adopt diversification strategy is court profits maximization and get enterprise performance is a critical target. Product diversification how to affect foreign direct investment performance? Recently, the problem is very popular at Euro and Japan Management academic circle. But the problem is very scarce in Taiwan.
In the literatures, previously articles use financial index and industry character to measure diversification. And find that the relationship between diversification strategy and performance is indefinite. The main account is the diversification strategy was complex condition, and many elements effect firm’s performance. We must consider more factors like firm’s size, industry character, financial condition.
The research use the「Report on Foreign Investment Strategies of the Manufactures」published by Department of Statistics, Ministry of Economic Affairs questionnaires data, and Stochastic Frontier Approach to examine the relationship of FDI diversification and overall operation result. The empirical results of this paper show that：(1). Manufactures firm’s FDI diversification strategy had signification effect on the performance of enterprise. (2). Horizontal integration significantly improve firms’ technical efficiencies.
