碩士 / 元智大學 / 機械工程學系 / 93 / In this paper, a genetic algorithm has been proposed to find the optimization of plate fin heat sinks. Only two parameters that affect the fin efficiency are considered in the present work: the fin thickness and the fin number. In the genetic algorithm the entropy generation rate is chosen as the objective function to be minimized.
Three major parameters related to the genetic algorithm considered in this thesis are the number of population and the mutation rate of each generation and the genetic algorithm (mechanism). The results show that 20 samples of the pool and 3% of the mutation rate seem the best combination. As for the genetic algorithm, that two best ones are reproduced into the next generation and the other 18 are generated by crossover from the best ten of the previous generation seems the best mechanism.
It can also be observed from the genetic operation that the fin thickness plays a more important role on the efficiency of plate fin heat sinks.
