Investigation of Vertical Ozone Profiles on the Coast of Kao-Ping Air Basin. / 高屏沿海地區臭氧垂直剖面特性之調查研究

碩士 / 輔英科技大學 / 環境工程與科學系碩士班 / 94 / Abstract
This research work plans to investigate vertical ozone profiles on the coast of Kao-Ping Air Basin by tethered ozonesondes, and the source analysis of the ozone precursors using backward air trajectories. Three intensive fields studies were performed, containing 16 observation days and 136 vertical ozone soundings during 21 Oct., 2005 to 20 Nov., 2005 at Lin-Yuan industrial park.
The results from the vertical ozone profiles and the backward air trajectory analysis show that the high ozone concentration can be classified into four types (1) the ozone-interfered type, (2) the low-mixing layer type, (3) the high-mixing layer type,(4) the residual layer type. The influential factors were involving the development of internal boundary layer, the elevated plume, airflow reversing from south to north, and the ozone resided aloft at night. The backward air trajectories analysis show that the precursors came from Lin-Hai Industrial park, main city of Kaohsiung, CPC Refinery and Ren-da Industrial park.
The low ozone concentration distribution can be classified into four types (1) the near-surface low ozone type, (2) small ozone-depleted layer type, (3) large ozone-depleted type, and (4) integrated type with surface and elevated ozone depletion. The dominating factors include the dry deposition process, NO titration at surface and aloft due to elevated plumes, and the atmospheric stability conditions. The backward air trajectories analysis show that the source of the elevated ozone-depleted air mass came from Lin-Hai Industrial park and Lin-Yuan Industrial park.
