Before 1980, the locality development in Mainland China was based on national plan and the economic was also focus on the national development, but disregarded the small towns and the coast. Disregarded by China central government, the local areas have started to develop its’ own economic mode. Beside the economic mode of Wenzhou and the south of Jiangsu, the case study of Yi-Wu has extended the development, which is an unfamiliar case in the local advance of Mainland China.
This thesis defined that Yi-Wu Small Commodity Market has the same character which mentioned above. The special is that the Yi-Wu’s economic development is not mark out by the country, but developed by businessman from Korea and the Middle East. According to the variety trading channels, Yi-Wu has become the biggest small commodity market in Mainland China, indeed, the worldwide Small Commodity Market.
By analyzing documents, this thesis discusses the history and the development process of Yi-Wu. I tried to figure out the revolution of Yi-Wu market by talking with major, such as government departments, the authority of space plan, businessman, and the resident. Finally, I bring up the case of Yi-Wu to explain the business transactions, the relationship between space and the special property marketing, and the difference from ambient area by using the theory of spatial capital. This form of business is very special in the world, so we call it ‘‘the space development mode of logistics cities and towns’’.
In the logistics cities, it is built by government, commodities city group and register company and has its own partnership. Government led the commodities city group and Register Company and these three powers have developed the Yi-Wu Small Commodity Market.
