Application in Shoreline Changes Simulation byGENESIS System Cooperate with River Sediment Transport / GENESIS系統搭配河川輸砂應用於海岸變遷之研究

碩士 / 國立成功大學 / 水利及海洋工程學系碩博士班 / 94 / Coastal zone is the border of sea/land interactions and affected constantly by waves, tides, currents and winds so as to leading a variety coastal features. Coastal zone is the spot also where human cultural and economical activities developed. Once ruined then hardly recovers from the wrecked situation because of its sensitive and fragile characteristics. Therefore, modern science and technology such as numerical simulations should be used in coastal process research to predict, assess, plan, utilize or manage the offshore article and conserve the coastal resources lasting forever.
Coastal variation is a complicated process so that estimate the shoreline changes by mathematical model with the aid of excellent computational and treatment abilities of computer could be an alternate approach. A popular one-lined model of GENESIS (GENEralized model for Simulating Shoreline change) system was used in the paper to simulate the long-term coastline changes with offshore constructions as the option. The simulating precisions of the model usually depend on the accuracy of boundary conditions and input parameters. So, this paper focus on the simulation error limit by the sensitive analysis while varied the input boundary with a moving condition in one side and a pinned condition on other side. The adjacent river mouth section was regarding as a moving boundary and could be obtained by historical time series data of river sedimentation. With the correct parameters/boundary conditions data input, GENISIS system could make a more accurate simulation results.
The case study has been carried out on Yilan County offshore between the river mouth of Lanyang River and Wai-ao area. A pre-test execute first to determine the preliminary parameters and then more suitable and accurate parameters calibrate/identify procedures were taken in advance by used the data of Wai-ao as a pinned and the river mouth of Lanyang River as a moving boundaries. With these data input, GENESIS system could be used to predict the shoreline changes in alternate options. The study showed that, most of the simulation results are coincident with the real situation while compared with the field environments, wave direction is dominate in simulating procedure and the variety of moving boundary as well as wave direction should be constrain the error within 20% and 10% then 80% simulating reliability could be obtained. So, GENESIS can be considered as a powerful tool to forecast and assess the coast engineering design and disaster prevention strategy planning.
