碩士 / 國立成功大學 / 交通管理學系碩博士班 / 94 / This research seeks to investigate logistics services requirements in Europe, America, and South East Asia from a Taiwanese manufacturer’s perspective. Six factors are extracted from the 33 logistics service attributes based on a factor analysis. These six factors were identified as value-added services, transportation and warehousing services, integration system services, consolidation services, and support services. These service factors were used to classify respondents into four segments, namely, information service oriented firms, transportation and added value services oriented firms, consolidation and storage services oriented firms, and integration system and supportive services oriented firms.
Results indicated that respondents in European area perceived that the most five important logistics services attributes were customs brokerage, information system services, insurance services, cargo inspection and cargo storage, whereas respondents in America area perceived that the most five important logistics services attributes were information system services, customs brokerage, cargo tracking and tracing, cargo inspection and customer integration system. In addition, respondents in South East Asia area perceived that the most five important logistics services attributes were information system services, customs brokerage, cargo tracking and tracing, cargo inspection and cargo storage.
The results also indicated that respondents’ perceptions of satisfaction level of logistics services attributes were found to significantly differ between Europe, America and South East Asia. The theoretical and practical implications of the findings on logistics services market for international logistics companies are discussed.
