The effect of characteristics and overseas adaptation on expatriates' job performance:Chinese petroleum corporation as an example / 海外派遣人員之人格特質、海外適應情形對其工作績效之影響-以中國石油股份有限公司為例

With the rapid trend of Globalization, enterprises expands one after another its overseas market ,and had been established under the overseas subsidiary ,Overseas business then starts to play the important role;however ,the enterprise first encounters the questions how to chose the appropriate personnel ,and maintains the overseas business operation ,the parent corporation frequently uses the method is that dispatch the experienced staff to the subsidiary ,not only assists the overseas duty carrying on ,simultaneously is engaged in the duty on behalf of the parent corporation surveillance and controls. This research take the Chinese Petroleum Corporation expatriates dispatch to Greater Arabia area- Arabia and Qatar as the research object, and selected samples by a convenient method, two hundred and sixty two questionnaires out of 500 were returned. The sample returned rate is 52.4%. Results of statistical analyses provided four conclusions as follows:
1.The relationship between expatriates’ Big Five characteristics and overseas adaptation situation is statistically significant.
2. The relationship between overseas adaptation situation and expatriates’ work performance is statistically significant.
3. The Expatriates’ characteristics have influence on the expatriates’ overseas adaptation situation.
4. The expatriates’ overseas adaptation situation also has certainly influence on the expatriates’ work performance.
