碩士 / 國立高雄海洋科技大學 / 航運管理研究所 / 94 / The purpose of this research is to discuss the shipper behavior to use electronic commerce (EC) of ocean freight forwarders. Firstly, searching and transacting by EC website were employed to define shipper intention to use EC, then a causal model was constructed to investigate the determinants of the intention from internal organizational factors and service qualities of shippers. The former was explained as the degree of computerization and the perception of IT innovation within organization, and the latter as professional and EC service quality of ocean freight forwarders. The professional service quality includes service attitude, handling capability in transportation, and service diversity, which will indirectly affect the shipper intention to use EC through partnership. The EC service quality contains promotion and training of EC. As an empirical study, 144 exporting shippers from 8 main industries in Taiwan were sampled to validate the model. The results indicate that partnership and EC promotion are the most significant factors to affect the shipper intention to use EC. All of the 3 professional service qualities were significant determinants of partnership, especially the service diversity. The results could provide information for relative research, and for ocean freight forwarders to implement an EC.
